Events & Updates
Our next WGA meeting is Tuesday, September 25, at 7:00 P. M. The prompt this time is in the category of fiction. The prompt is "Where are you going for summer vacation?" All rules can be found in the newsletter sent to all current members.
We are happy to announce that we have started a meeting for extra enrichment. This is for all members interested in discussing topics relating to various genres. We may do exercises to put these ideas into practice. We will call this group, "Goal Diggers". We hope to see our interested members there for our fourth meeting which will be Monday, November 19, @ 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Barnes and Nobel. The subject will be "Character development." : The "Character Cheat Sheet" is a valuable tool to zero in on your story's character. Email our president and request a email copy of the "Character Cheat Sheet". Fill it in with your story's main character with his or her attributes. We can then discuss these at our next meeting.
The Chapbooks, with the winning submissions of the High School Writers Contest,
are available for purchase at our meetings. We try to encourage writing to as many students as possible. The youth are also welcome to join the WGA and meet the members and authors.
The WGA Anthology for 2012 - 2014 is available and can be purchased by WGA members at the meetings. For more information on purchasing, contact the Board President, Sudie Landry, at the above-mentioned email or you may email the guild firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also have a few WGA cookbooks for sale to members for the price of $5.00 each while supplies last.
