Our prompt for the June 27, 2017 is fiction and is titled: "What went wrong". The prompt must appear somewhere within the work, and entries must be no longer than 500 words. All entries must be typed and double-spaced.
The August 25, 2017 meeting will feature a guest speaker, Mr. Jack Caldwell. Make plans to attend this informative meeting.
Good News! On Saturday, September 2, 2017 the Writers Guild of Acadiana is sponsoring a free workshop about E-book publishing. The speaker will be Deborah LeBlanc. The seminar will be held at the South Regional Library and is open to the public. The event is from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. More details will be published as the event gets closer.
The Chapbooks, with the winning submissions of the High School Writers Contest,
are available for purchase at our meetings. We try to encourage writing to as many students as possible, and have the contest each year. The youth are also welcome to join the WGA and meet the members and authors.
The WGA Anthology for 2012 - 2014 is available and can be purchased by WGA members at the meetings. We also have a few WGA cookbooks for sale.

Writer's Digest is accepting entries in nine different categories, whether you are a part-time freelance author, a professional writer, or simply starting out.
